Puff's Programmable Cart

Last Update 9/30/2013

This was my first programmable cart. it used a 32kby8 battery backed SRam. Bob Puff designed and built this for me. It had 4  8k banks. it was totally controlled from software. The nice thing about this cart is I could change a single byte. The newer flash chips that people are creating carts around require  reprogramming an entire bank to change a single byte. Bob Puff made this cart for me back in the late 1990's. To this date I find this cart useful in testing new firmware code. At some point in time I hope to create a few more of these. I have 10 blank PCB that can be turned into this programmable Cartridge. I just need to figure out the logic that is programmed into the 16v8 chip.
